Packing Partners MLK (DOS)

We are so encouraged by the amazing response! Thanks to the community's enthusiasm, all shifts have already reached capacity.

We are exploring ways to expand capacity and have opened a waitlist to assess interest. If you would like to be notified of updates or possible openings, please sign up and we will be in touch as soon as we have more information. Please note that joining the waitlist does not guarantee placement, but helps us understand demand as we seek additional opportunities.

If you are bringing guest(s), please register using the "Sign Up a Team" button.
If you are registering as an individual, use the "Sign Up" button.

Registering as a Team will help us plan an excellent volunteer experience; especially with over 700 volunteers supporting the Food Bank that day!

Volunteers will work side-by-side to assemble and pack food to be distributed to hungry people in Orange County and surrounding areas. Through this project, volunteers can create positive economic change in the lives of low-income children, families, seniors, and veterans.

As a program of the Community Action Partnership of Orange County (CAPOC), the Orange County Food Bank is dedicated to changing lives, inspiring hope, strengthening communities, and making America a better place to live.

For over 56 years, CAP OC has positively impacted the lives of Orange County residents by helping them meet their basic needs and strengthening the support systems that empower individuals and families to overcome poverty.

The Food Bank is housed in a 60,000 square foot warehouse, which includes a huge commercial refrigerator and freezer capable of handling over 20 truckloads of food. The Food Bank distributed over 20 million pounds of food annually. They also provide food and personal care items to nearly 250 other nonprofits throughout Orange County. At the Food Bank's warehouse, volunteers package 24,000 boxes of food each month for distribution at 50 sites across the county.

Last year: sorting and packing fresh produce, packing 9,557 food boxes.
