Support Staff - Orange County Meal Pack for 9/11 Day (Fri Sep 11)
ABOUT THIS PROJECT Join us in Orange County on September 11 for the 9/11 Day of Service! Volunteer as Support Staff and help us pack 210,000 meals for those in need. SUPPORT STAFF VOLUNTEERS Our Support Staff Volunteers are critical to the success of each project. They ensure the projects run smoothly, that all attendees have a great experience, and that meals are packed and delivered to where they are most needed. Register today to be part of this incredible event. Overview video: 9/11 Day Support Staff Explainer Video We need:
- Table Captains: As a Table Captain, you will take charge of one or two assembly lines, guiding a team of Meal Pack Volunteers. You will train volunteers as they arrive, troubleshoot, answer questions throughout the shift, and keep energy levels and spirits high!
- Heavy Lifters/Runners: As a Heavy Lifter, you will play a vital role in maintaining a steady flow of supplies at each packing station, ensuring the meal-packing process runs smoothly and efficiently. Before volunteering for this role, it is very important to note that this role requires that you can lift and carry 50 lbs repeatedly for about 90 minutes.
- Guest Services Teams: As a member of the Guest Services Teams, you will play a key role in welcoming, checking in, directing and assisting Meal Pack and/or Support Staff Volunteers as they arrive at the event, answering questions and troubleshooting challenges.
- Set-Up and Break Down Support: As a member of the set-up or break down team, you will help get the space ready pre-event, or to clean up post-event.
- SET UP Shift on Thursday, September 10: 10:00am - 2:00pm
- EVENT SUPPORT Shift on Friday, September 11: 7:30am - 1:00pm (sign up below)
- A 30-minute Zoom training (scheduled one week before the event on Wednesday, September 2)
- Approximately 4 hours on event day
