Upscale Resale Thrift Store Volunteers
South County Outreach’s mission is to prevent hunger and homelessness by helping people help themselves.
SCO provides critical support to people during times of financial hardship and to vulnerable, low-income families and individuals experiencing poverty. This includes offering a dignified shopping experience in our food pantries, utilities and rental support, and educational guidance take steps toward stability.
Shopping is great, but shopping for a cause is even better! Upscale Resale is a thrift store that benefits South County Outreach clients facing food insecurity and homelessness throughout Orange County. The shop sells a variety of new, gently used and vintage items, including clothing and accessories, jewelry, home décor, furniture, toys, and more.
Responsibilities:
Thrift Store volunteers help with sorting donations, stocking shelves, cashiering, creating displays, and assisting customers while shopping. We are seeking personable and organized volunteers who like working with others. Please keep in mind this is an active position that requires walking around the store and lifting donations to sort and display.
Time Commitment:
We are currently looking for weekly, ongoing volunteers that can commit to one shift each week (minumum of 3 - 4 hours).
The store is open Monday - Saturday from 10am - 5pm.
Requirements:
- We can provide register training for this position (background check required).
- Must be 18 or older.
- Some heavy lifting will be required for receiving donations.
