Become an Early Literacy Tutor!
The Girls Inc. Literacy Lab program highlights best practices and strategies to ensure girls in grades Kindergarten through 3rd Grade are reading at grade-level competency. Volunteers work with small groups during weekly sessions to help improve the reading scores of each participant.
Volunteers are able to:

Build positive and nurturing relationships with elementary girls

Assist program staff in the development of activities

Assist with the facilitation of literacy-based activities Work with program staff to implement the evaluation process

Provide ongoing communication with program staff
Volunteers can gain experience in:

Working and interacting with a youth population

School-Year Opportunity: The program is held afterschool, Monday-Thursday from 2-6:00pm at four elementary schools in Costa Mesa. Training is available for all volunteers.
