Sunday: CureDuchenne Futures National Conference Volunteers
With advancing research and coordinated care, we believe there is hope for the future of Duchenne. The CureDuchenne 2019 FUTURES national conference is designed to provide families affected by Duchenne muscular dystrophy with the information, support and motivation they need to live the best and longest life possible. The conference will gather scientists, researchers, physicians, patients, caregivers, healthcare professionals, equipment providers and more for a weekend of learning, engaging and empowering one another. Volunteers for the 2019 CureDuchenne FUTURES conference must be 18 years or older. All volunteers must be sensitive to working with a special needs population, specifically people living with Duchenne muscular dystrophy and their families. Volunteers must host an attitude of professionalism: highlighting helpfulness, kindness and an overall willingness to assist the CureDuchenne “Ground Control” team with tasks. Volunteers will be provided with food & drink during their shifts as well as a t-shirt to wear during service (except groups with required uniform). Volunteer responsibilities may include: assistance with registration tables, ushering guests to their seats, being available to walk with families to different rooms of the conference center, assisting the photographer, etc. |
