Treasurer and Board Member
The Fullerton-based Museum of Teaching and Learning is seeking a Treasurer to join a small, active, and collegial Board that is dedicated to bringing stories from the field of education to the public. The Treasurer will work closely with a bookkeeper who is currently using QuickBooks for financial management.
The Treasurer for the Museum of Teaching and Learning (MOTAL) is responsible for all funds and securities of the corporation and for depositing all funds in the banks, trust companies, or other depositories selected by the Board of Directors. Funds are to be received and disbursed at the direction of the Board, with proper documentation for all transactions. The Treasurer will keep and maintain adequate and correct accounts of assets, liabilities, receipts, disbursements, gains and losses. Tax preparation is required. Regular reports to the President and Directors of the financial condition of corporation are required. Assistance with internal controls and budgeting is expected. Prepare, certify, and exhibit any requested or required financial statement. Board membership is preferred. CPA certification is required.
At MOTAL, we educate people about education through exhibitions and events. Our traveling exhibitions tell stories about people--individuals who have made a significant difference and/or those who have special educational experiences. Our vintage artifacts in our "mini-museum" headquarters also serve as springboards for storytelling.
